Hornsea®

Hornsea pottery was founded in 1949 by Desmond and Colin Rawson in the English seaside town of Hornsea. The company grew to be the worlds largest “studio pottery” producer which was known for their stylish and contemporary designs. The studio produced hundreds of designs and shapes over a 50-year year period and became synonymous with innovative and influential designs. At its peak Hornsea could not keep up with demand.

Award-winning designs included works of John Clappison, Alan Luckham and Dorothy Marion Campbell. Items produced by Hornsea are held in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Today, the The Hornsea Museum in Yorkshire, England dedicates itself to cataloging the history and output of Hornsea Pottery.

The Hornsea legacy is continued in the thousands of patterns and shapes available for licensing and re-production.

Selected classic Hornsea designs will be updated and re-issued in 2010 through key retailer exclusives.

Import Images

Import Images was established in 1995 as a distributor of posters imported from Europe. With a focus on edgy design and unique imagery, Import Images quickly became both the largest importer of posters in North America and a category leader in the college market.

Import Images started to publish its own posters in 1996 and went on to be the first licensee for many bands, movies and characters. Import Images was the first ever licensee for Reservoir Dogs in the world. Import Images was also the first licensee for Rocky, The Matrix, Edward Scissorhands, Aliens, The Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Emily The Strange, David and Goliath and many other properties.

Over time Import Images set a track record of breaking new categories of products including Mural Posters, 8 x 10 postercards and SlimPrints.

Import Images stopped publishing posters in 2008 and the trade name was acquired by Culturenik Inc.

Today Import Images is re-focused on importing and distributing posters from both domestic and foreign publishers and operates as a sub-brand of Culturenik.
